As many of you know, I'm one of Scott's old friends. We worked together on ICS at FSU back in the late 80s, I was a frequent contributor to Scott's previous blog, and I hope to contribute more prolifically to Pub Pundits in the future.
In the meantime, this is a belated announcement about a web site I recently launched. Over the past few years, I've transformed my business from a web site design and contract programming business to more of an e-mail hosting and spam filtering business. Additionally, dovetailing with the spam filtering services, I also maintain a subscription-based dnsbl which consists of both an rbl blacklist and a uribl blacklist. The former might be compared to SpamHaus's Zen list. The uri list is much like surbl.org and uribl.com ...if this seems like "greek" to you... and this is quite off-topic for pub pundits... then visit the site to read more about this. This is not a consumer product, but many small businesses which run their own spam filters and mail servers have used this to improve their existing spam filtering. Additionally, I also have larger clients, including one Fortune 100 company. Another Fortune 100 company is currently testing! So the future looks bright. (Although it it has been a hard road developing this technology the past few years!)
I guess this is my way to do what Neal Boortz recommends, which is to "outrun" the economy and high gov't taxes. This is also my way of diversifying income streams. Advice I'm glad to have followed!
